First double diplomas for Indian knowledge workers
4 september 2008 - There are too few Dutch beta students to make up for the shortage on the Dutch labor and research markets. For this reason the TU/e, too, has started looking abroad for knowledge workers. Especially in India a search is being conducted for scientific talent for a two-year Master course. Dutch companies support attractive labor contracts with industrial grants. The first batch of eight ‘knowledge workers’ were awarded their diplomas last week.

Nuvolari best master teacher
4 september 2008 - One of TU/e’s foreign staff has been voted best master teacher by students at the university. Rector prof.dr.ir. Hans van Duijn presented Italian assistant professor dr. Alessandro Nuvolari with the TU/e Education Prize for the best teacher in a master program during the opening of the Academic Year on Monday. The prize comes with a cheque for 5000 euros and a big bunch of flowers.

On familiar ground in Eindhoven with ISN/e mentor
4 september 2008 - Members of ISN/e, the international student association in Eindhoven, have again taken the initiative this year to recruit (Dutch) mentors for the new batch of international students. Omar Komiha, who up to this year was secretary for ISN/e and is a Master student of Information security technology: “Our predecessors did so as well five years ago. Meanwhile the mentor system has petered out, but now we wish to make a fresh start again.”
