Millions for physics and chemistry
15 oktober 2009 - The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) is going to invest one hundred million euros in university education and research in physics and chemistry over a period of five years. TU/e is pleased with that announcement, but makes a reservation about the pre-conditions set by Minister Plasterk.

TU/e doctor wins Simon Stevin Apprentice Prize
15 oktober 2009 - On Thursday 8 October TU/e doctor Rick Scholte won the Simon Stevin Apprentice Prize 2009 awarded by STW (Technology Foundation). During the annual conference of this foundation in Nieuwegein the audience selected him from three nominees. Scholte will receive five thousand euros and a work of art.

15 oktober 2009 - Although one is Portuguese and the other British, the lives of Jorge Alves Lino (30, PhD candidate Industrial Design) and Benjamin Salem (40, Assistant Professor Industrial Design) are closely connected. They share the same scientific interest, but their sense of humor in particular is the deciding factor.
