ICMS looking for new visual language with STRP
17 december 2009 - The animation studio of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) of TU/e has placed a call on the site of the STRP Festival, the Eindhoven art and technology festival that is to take place again in November of next year. Together with STRP the researchers of the ICMS are looking for new creative artists, designers or scientists who have ideas about a new visual language for visualizing molecules.

According to the ICMS the current visual representations are getting to be limited because of the complexity of the systems studied by the institute. Promising ideas will be given pride of place at the STRP Festival 2010 and may possibly be developed further in cooperation with the ICMS.

The project fits in with the plans of the STRP Festival to start an intensive collaboration with TU/e. Thus, the organization has informed us that contacts have already been established with choreographer Roos van Berkel, coach at the Department of Industrial Design (ID), to conceive of a dance for humans and a robot (the TUlip of Mechanical Engineering). STRP is also talking to TU/e professor prof.dr. Bert Meijer about a series of lectures by scientists during the festival and ID students will make a contribution to the festival experience. (TJ)/.
