Apologies by TU/e Executive Board to University of Twente

Friday March 19 the Executive Board of TU/e has apologized in writing to the chairman of the University Council of the University of Twente (UT) for not informing the UT Executive Board in good time about the switchover of professor Hans Kuipers and three of his colleagues.
FOM Institute for Plasma Physics intends to move to TU/e

The FOM (the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter) intends to move its Institute for Plasma Physics Rijnhuizen to the TU/e campus. With a workforce of some 150 the FOM institute intends to expand and considers Eindhoven the best location for that ambition. The move, which will take it to a new building at the present location of De Werf, must be completed within 4 to 5 years.

Both come from Venezuela, from the city of Maracaibo. They did not know each other before meeting in the Netherlands, and now they are both conducting PhD research with the Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Department. Maria Leon Matheus (27) and Youseli Gonzalez Lemus (33) are genuine ‘Maracuchas’. “People from Maracaibo always talk slightly too loud, and are very boisterous. So are we. During lunch we regularly attract people’s attention.”
