SG zoekt student-assistenten
Het bureau Studium Generale heeft tot taak de maatschappelijk, intellectuele en culturele vorming van studenten te bevorderen. In samenwerking met studenten organiseert SG lezingen, discussies, concerten, theater- en filmvoorstellingen en workshops voor studenten.
We zijn op zoek naar 2 student-assistenten (2 x 6 uur)
1. Voor het Gaslab, waar o.a. concerten worden georganiseerd op donderdagen (en soms woensdagen), zijn we op zoek naar een s.a. voor techniek en productie. Voornaamste taken zijn bediening licht, opbouwen podium, assisteren van de SG-programmamaker. Het leuke is dat je, naast het leren van techniekdingen, ook veel concerten en theatervoorstellingen kunt zien. De aanstelling loopt van medio augustus 2010 tot begin juni 2011 en bedraagt 6 uur per week.

2. Vanaf september begint SG in het Gaslab met betalen voor cultuur. Niet-studenten betalen dan entree voor de programma’s. Daartoe hebben we een kassamedewerker nodig. De aanstelling loopt van medio augustus 2010 tot begin juni 2011 en bedraagt gemiddeld 3 uur per week. Deze functie wordt voor de periode tot half januari 2011 aangevuld met het ophangen van programmaposters in de diverse kasten op de campus op de vrijdagmiddag (eveneens 3 uur per week).

Workshop TRD16 ‘Voice training’
Do you have a sore throat or a hoarse voice after giving a lecture or presentation? Would you like to improve your audibility in the lecture hall? In that case you might want to participate in the workshop ‘Voice training’.
The workshop aims at improving the use of your voice in lectures, presentations and instructions, and at the prevention of a strained voice.
During the workshop a teacher of speech therapy will give you information. Your performance is recorded on camera. You will be given advice based on that recording.
The workshop consists of two sessions that will take place on Thursday 30 September from 13.30 - 16.00 hours and on Thursday 21 October 2010 from 13.30 - 16.30 hours. This course is also a part of the TU/e BKO training program.

Course TRD52 ‘Supervising master students’
The course ‘Supervising master students’ for teachers and PhD students (experienced and inexperienced supervisors) will be offered on Monday 27 September and Wednesday 29 September 2010 from 13.30 - 17.00 hours. The course is aimed to improve and systemize the way in which supervisors guide their students during their graduation projects. The course consists of short introductions, exercises and discussions. Participants will have an active role during the course.
Participation by teaching staff of the TU/e is free of charge.

Workshop Skills Lab: ‘Use of Media’
The workshop ‘Use of Media’ will be offered on 21 September 2010 from 13.30 - 17.00 hours. In this workshop participants will get started in a practical manner with using several IT applications in teaching.
This workshop discusses a number of good practices in the area of using IT resources during the lessons. The advantages and disadvantages of various IT applications are discussed. Each teacher presents a plan to the other teachers of how he/she will implement the IT application of his/her choice.
Participation by teaching staff of the TU/e is free of charge. This course is also part of the BKO training program.

De belangstelling en attenties bij de viering van mijn veertigjarig dienstjubileum waren overweldigend. De receptie was zeer druk bezocht en daarnaast heb ik ook nog tientallen gelukwensen via kaarten en per mail ontvangen. Het is hierdoor voor mij en mijn gezin een onvergetelijke dag geworden.
