    What's happening?

    TU/e talents wanted

Do you spend many an hour at home sculpting away and would you like to show your fellow students or colleagues what you have created? Have you made an oil painting that you are particularly proud of? Are you an ardent photographer? Studium Generale (SG) is giving you the opportunity to show your talents. From March 15 to May 3 works of art made by staff members and students will be exhibited within the framework of the 55th anniversary of TU/e.

“We want to show a side of staff members and students that the public at large is as yet unaware of”, says Lucas Asselbergs, head of SG. The theme of this exhibition, to be organized on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of TU/e, is ‘the experiment’. Participants can think of all sorts of things, provided they make a creation that is ‘capable of exhibiting’ and adhere to the theme. Asselbergs thinks that the exhibition is perfectly in line with other activities taking place in the TU/e’s jubilee year, whereby the connecting nature occupies centre stage. “That connection cannot only be made via the obvious channels, such as your work, but also by meeting with other people through one’s artistic talents.” Moreover, it is the intention of SG to include the works submitted in a catalog, as well as interviews with the makers. In 2006 -which was also a lustrum year- a similar exhibition was staged at TU/e. (JvG)

The deadline for the works of art is February 7. The exhibition will only display work made by TU/e students and staff members. Entitled ‘Het Experiment’ the exhibition will be on show from March 15 to May 3 in the hall of the Hoofdgebouw. For registration and further information, please contact Anna Houwen, a.houwen@tue.nl.

    Wanted: artistic talent

If you have been yearning long to show your own artistic expressions to the rest of TU/e, this is your chance. Studium Generale (SG), the organization within TU/e that offers matters not covered by the regular curriculum, will from March 15 to May 3 exhibit works of art by staff members and students in the hall of the Hoofdgebouw. If you wish to join in, register before February 7 with Anna Houwen, a.houwen@tue.nl.
