Nice spots in Eindhoven | Part 3
12 mei 2011 - Eindhoven has lots of nice hangouts. You may not know all of them, and always end up at Stratum for a drink, or at Dommelstraat for a snack. That is why Cursor is opening up this theme to come up with hints about less well-known restaurants, bars and other places in Eindhoven. In this third issue: summery spots.

Kim van Iersel, a Master student of Industrial Design, mentions the ‘bierprofessor’. “You can sample as many as a hundred different kinds of beer, including a lot of summer beers. They have all the foreign brands, so if you are from the Czech Republic, for instance, you can order the same beer you always drink at home.”

Stephan Hoes, also a Master student of Industrial Design, likes to draw attention to De IJzeren Man: a natural swimming-pool with a lovely beach and a terrace. Stephan: “It’s quite near the university, so if you have a few leisure hours between lectures, it’s definitely worthwhile. And it’s much more fun than the outdoor pool of the Tongelreep.”

Another tip is ‘the Minibar’ in Kleine Berg. This tip is from Saskia de Laat, Social Media Manager at the Communication Expertise Center of TU/e. “Minibar is a relatively new bar, it has a nice terrace with lounge sofas and an excellent cocktail menu. Ideal for long summer nights with your partner, friends or relatives.”

What we should like to mention finally is ice-cream parlor ‘la casa di Emozione’ in Heezerweg. Delicious Italian ice-cream and open on Sundays as well. (HB)
