What is the best advice anyone has ever given you and why?
“Our father used to say: ‘makt oe eigen nie druk’, all will be well. Which is exactly right. You cannot influence things that happen. The following day everything will look totally different again.”

What is your favorite spot and why?
“Hahaha, does it have to be about work, or can it be a private spot also? No seriously, at home is my favorite spot. Simply at home ‘with the wife’, as they say in Brabant. I am totally satisfied there. I don’t need holidays either. So I never go on holiday.”

In whose shoes would you like to be and why?
“That is a bloody difficult question. Let me think… Wesley Sneijder. Such a short little chap with such a big talent. I rather like that. And he has a very nice wife as well.”

Who at TU/e deserves a pat on the back and why?
“Harry Roumen (secretary of the Executive Board, ed.). I have just been through a difficult period, in which Harry has advised and assisted me. My previous position as security official has been made redundant and he has seen to it that I could get a job at the Sports Center. I am still enormously grateful to him for that.” (HB)
