30 oktober 2008 - Ir. Maurice Kwakkernaat has been presented with the first Netelcom Award by the Dutch branch association of telecom companies. Kwakkernaat was given the incentive prize of five thousand euros for his research within the Radiocommunication group of the Electrical Engineering Department. He developed a measurement system there that enables us, while moving along, very accurately to measure both the radio echoes of the mobile telephone network and video images of the environment. By combining the radio and video images, important information is obtained about the operation of the mobile network. Kwakkernaat hopes to obtain his PhD for this research in December.
