Executive Board increases teaching quality requirements

28 januari 2010 - Newly appointed assistant professors and associate professors must from now on meet the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO). The Executive Board (CvB) has decided to implement this arrangement in all Departments. The BKO obliges newly appointed assistant professors and associate professors to demonstrate by means of a portfolio that they possess the required didactic skills.Obtaining the certificate will also be a condition for promotions and when there is an appointment for an indefinite period involved. Staff members who are already employed and for whom it has appeared, for instance on the basis of educational evaluations, that they need to improve the quality of their teaching, will also be obliged to obtain the BKO certificate.
