One-hour instruction to prevent RSI

1 november 2007 - Many TU/e employees and students spend many hours a day facing a monitor, which has an inherent risk: the excessive or incorrect use of a computer may cause RSI complaints (Repetitive Strain Injury, complaints resulting from the prolonged and repetitive execution of similar small movements). This is why the TU/e Working Conditions and Environmental Service Organization (AMSO) organizes four instruction afternoons about RSI per year for staff and students. The next meeting for English-speaking persons will be in lecture hall 1.01 of W-hoog from 15.30 to 16.30 hours on Wednesday 14 November. The Working Conditions Act compels employees to give such instruction and staff and students are obliged to participate. For this reason it will be registered who will be taking part in this afternoon. Everybody is more than welcome and it is not necessary to register in advance. The AMSO particularly calls on people who have not participated in such instruction before. During the instruction afternoon the basic principles of RSI and how to prevent it will be presented. It will also be possible to ask questions./.
