Conference ICT, EU and development in the South
3 april 2008 - TU/e is hosting a free conference on the impact of ICT and Europe’s ICT policy on developing countries on April 9.

The I4D-day 2008 will investigate whether ICT can be a solution to practical problems, for example by providing medical advice to people in remote areas. ICT can of course also be a motor for economic development. Various speakers will look at the innovations necessary for ICT to contribute optimally to ‘development in the south’ and at the role the EU can play.

The conference will be held in the Auditorium. There is no conference fee, but registration online at www.i4d.nl is required (contact number stichting Oikos 030-2361500). Conference documentation will be sent after registration.

The I4D-day and the I4D network are initiatives by Stichting Oikos, Ingenieurs zonder Grenzen (KIVI NIRIA), TU/e’s committee on Technology for Development, Otherwise, Studium Generale Delft, Studium Generale Eindhoven and the Royal Tropical Institute KIT. NCDO is providing support, Oikos is organising the event./.
