Alves de Medeiros’ dissertation was entitled ‘Genetic Process Mining’ and focused on the development of a control-flow process mining algorithm that can discover common control-flow structures.
‘Process mining targets the automatic discovery of information from an event log’, she writes in her dissertation. ‘The discovered information can be used to deploy new systems that support business processes or as a feedback tool that helps in auditing, analyzing and improving already enacted processes. The main benefit of process mining is that information is objectively compiled.’
