Less money for foreign top students?

18 juni 2009 - Is the Ministry of Education going to cut the student grants for non-European top talents? Internet magazine ScienceGuide announced that the Ministry of Education had to save some two hundred million euros. The budget for grants to non-European top students was alleged to be cut by thirty million. At present that budget amounts to more than fifty million euros.

Until 2008 ‘hogescholen’ and universities received fixed amounts for each non-European student that had registered. Since this year, the fixed amount that institutions have received for the grants has been based on the number of non-European students they had in 2008. (HOP)
