Another new feature is that it is possible to meditate prior to the meal. Initiator Marion de Groot expects that more feature films than documentaries will be selected this year. “A Bollywood film can shed a revealing light on India’s culture.”
De Groot invites international students to put films on the program that show aspects of the culture of their homelands. “Another idea would be to show a film about your hobby, your future work, your situation as a foreign student etc. The only condition is that the film is spoken in English or subtitled in English.”
The first two films were selected by De Groot herself. On 10 November she will be showing ‘L’auberge espagnole’. This is a French romantic film from 2002 about Erasmus students studying in Spain. The student assistant of T!NT took part in an Erasmus program in Finland herself and she recognizes the atmosphere.
The film she selected for 24 November is called ‘Boy A’. It is about a boy who spent his puberty in a youth prison and had to start all over again in ‘normal’ life. At present De Groot is doing an internship in a prison within the context of humanistic council work, which explains her passion for this British drama from 2007. (NS)/.
The series ‘Passion and Pasta’ takes place in café T!NT in student center Bunker (at Kennedylaan) on Tuesday every even week. In advance, a meal is prepared and eaten there. Anyone who feels like it can participate in a Zen meditation several hours earlier. The meditation and the film are free, and the meal costs 3.50 euros. If you want, you can register via tint@tue.nl, at least one day in advance. |
