21 januari 2010 - After many years of negotiations with the municipality of Eindhoven the great wish cherished by the Eindhoven Students’ Union (ESC) is going to be fulfilled. The ESC has purchased the monumental premises at Ten Hagestraat 13 for 516,000 euros (purchasing costs payable by the purchaser), according to the data of the Kadaster (Land Register). TU/e is contributing 600,000 euros. The investment required to make the premises fit for housing a student club is to be made by the ESC.For three years the ESC had the ardent wish to move from the Bunker to the city center. Ten Hagestraat 13, neighboring premises to Dynamo youth center, would be a perfect members’ club, provided renovation and extension are possible. The plans were delayed by the fact that these premises have a listed-building status, but on 12 November the Spatial Quality Committee of the municipality promised to cooperate in the further realization of the project. Meanwhile the building permit has been applied for. The ESC expects that it can move in 2011.
