Regional crime squad investigates major computer theft at TU/e

21 januari 2010 - Around the turn of the year TU/e fell victim to a major theft: fifty PCs and monitors were stolen somewhere between 24 December and 4 January. The regional crime squad and TU/e are investigating the case internally as well as externally. Ing. Mirjam Jahnke, head of Security of TU/e, estimates the total damage at some fifty thousand euros. In order not to intervene with the police investigation, the crime has not been given any publicity until now, Jahnke informs us. Which is why she does not want to say anything about the location from which the PCs and monitors were stolen, nor about the manner in which the theft took place. Jahnke: “I expect that we can complete the internal investigation in two weeks. I cannot say anything about the investigation by the crime squad.”
