    Four questions for….
    Marius Lazauskas
a Master student of Architecture, Building & Planning and Common Room volunteer
16 februari 2011 - What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
It is not very often I get advice and even less often I follow it. Trial and error is the hardest way to find something out - I chose it. The nearest thing to ‘advice’ that comes to my mind is a remark made by my second-year studies tutor. She said: “You will never have enough”. I’m not sure why, but I remember this remark once in a while. Looking back, it does make sense.

What is your favorite spot in Eindhoven?
During the first week in Eindhoven (it was the beginning of August) I was wandering around and came across some cows. I thought that I was pretty lost and wandered into some nearby village... Later on my house-mates explained that there is an eco-farm in ‘Genneperpark’. That explained the cow phenomenon. Anyway, I noticed that for Dutch people that is a natural occurrence, but for me it was something new to see cows in a park. I went there a few times to stare at them, watch them graze, say ‘Proost’ to them and have a beer.

In whose boots would you like to be for a day?
I do not really have idols, but I would choose between: Nikola Tesla, the last space shuttle launch coordinator, a religious radical (they have answers to everything) and the chief designer of the first Fiat Multipla series... A rather interesting collection, so it would depend on my mood.

Who at TU/e deserves a pat on the back and why?
I would certainly pet the ‘Energy Man’. I like the way humanity-facing issues are being presented.
Enough of spreadsheets, diagrams and tables! Let’s do something about it: plant a forest of windmills! Put on several sweaters! Hunt down that incandescent light bulb! If you want to change something: stop talking and start doing something! (SK)
