    ID-hoogleraar Kees Overbeeke overleden
    10 oktober 2011 - Zaterdag 8 oktober is prof.dr. Kees Overbeeke overleden aan een hartstilstand. De 59-jarige hoogleraar bij Industrial Design stierf terwijl hij aan het werk was op zijn laptop. Dit droevige nieuws maakte het bestuur van Industrial Design vandaag bekend. x11_s.jpg

    Kees Overbeeke was een prominent hoogleraar bij ID. Hij kreeg in maart van dit jaar nog een uitstekende waardering voor het onderzoek van zijn groep Designing Quality in Interaction van de visitatiecommissie van de QANU.

    Opleidingsdirecteur Panos Markopoulos: “Kees was op vele manieren het hart en de ziel van onze faculteit. Hij inspireerde studenten en medewerkers in Eindhoven en andere plekken in de wereld. Hij houdt een plaats in onze gedachten.”

    ID professor Kees Overbeeke dies

    On Saturday, October 8, prof.dr.ir. Kees Overbeeke died of cardiac arrest. The 59-year-old professor passed away while working on his laptop. The sad news was revealed by the board of Industrial Design today.
    Kees Overbeeke was a prominent professor at ID. Only in march of this year, the QANU assessment committee granted an excellent score for research conducted by his Designing Quality in Interaction group.
    Study program manager Panos Markopoulos: "Kees was in many ways the heart and soul of this faculty since its very early days and key in creating its identity and gaining an international reputation. He has inspired, challenged, and guided students and staff in this department and in several places in the world, leaving a legacy that will stay in our hearts and minds."
