Holland Handbook: practical guide for expats
13 september 2007 - Have you ever wondered about the origins of Sinterklaas? Would you like to know more about the Dutch political system, or how to get a Dutch driver’s license? Would you like to know how to find a family doctor, or how to find a school for your children? You will find all the answers in the Holland Handbook.

Xpat Media recently published the 2007-2008 edition of this reference book for expats, which offers information on all aspects of living and working in the Netherlands, inlcuding finding a job and a place to live, financial matters, transportation, education, and healthcare. Although mostly a reference book -with lots of usefull addresses, phone numbers, and websites- the Holland Handbook also includes tourist information and general information about Dutch culture and habits, and the Dutch language. It even includes an expats’ top ten of Dutch tourist attractions -including all the obvious choices, such as the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, and the Keukenhof- as well as a list of places to visit, recommended by the Dutch themselves, including the Biesbosch National Park, the Groninger Museum, the village of Thorn in Limburg, and the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem./.

On www.xpat.nl you can find excerpts from the Holland Handbook as well as up-to-date links to useful addresses and websites. The Holland Handbook 2007-2008, Xpat Media. ISBN: 9789055945153, 27.50 euros.
