Its not a really close friendship just yet, but they get along well. Nora Aridi (26) and Loek Overes (20) are taking part in the buddy project at the department of Architecture, Building and Planning. The underlying idea is for a Dutch student to show a foreign student the way around on campus and in the city.

The Women in Science Eindhoven (WISE) network has been operating for a year and has quickly grown into a lively organization. A year after its founding, some 150 female academic staff (about half of the TU/e total) have taken part in activities, which are popular. All communications are in English as at least half of the TU/e’s female academics are foreign. In February a WISE website was launched, the first of a number of moves planned to further professionalise the network.

Architecture student association CHEOPS is organizing a special walk and lunch for all international architecture students and their ‘buddies’ on May 20. Now the weather is improving, CHEOPS wants to show international students around some special buildings and sites in and around the downtown area.
TU/e chemistry program awarded prestigious Eurolabel

TU/e’s Chemical Engineering Department was recently awarded a ‘Eurolabel’ for both its Bachelor and its Master chemistry programs by the European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTN). The label will give graduates more opportunities to continue their studies and/or research at other European universities. And potentially attract more foreign students to the Master program, which is in English.
