TU/e is a good place to meet interesting and surprising people from all over the world and even journalists sometimes find that their preconceptions are pleasantly erroneous. Iranian Chemical Engineering Master student Sogol Golchin (29) is just about the opposite of what we in the West would expect from an Iranian woman. She’s not shy, asks a lot of questions, is curious about everything and is active in all kinds of student activities. She dresses like any other student and feels no obligation to cover her head in the Netherlands. She speaks her native Farsi, excellent English, some Arabic and is learning Dutch. |
