Jing Li, a PhD student at the Department of Visualization: “The Spring Festival can be compared to the Christmas holiday here. We traditionally celebrate it with family members and relatives. Since we are now far away from them, we celebrated it with our friends here in a family air.”
“Most of our friends arranged dinner together into small groups to celebrate”, Li explains. “This week Chinese students at the TU/e also sat together in the Auditorium to watch the videos recorded from Satellite TV programs of the parties and activities in China. Some of our Chinese friends, working in Eindhoven, helped to record this.”
Big party
This year, there will be a big party in Rotterdam on Sunday 8th Feb. (Theater Zuidplein, Admission 13.30) for all the Chinese students who study in the Netherlands. Chinese students from all Dutch student cities will gather to watch performances and talk to each other.
Students from Eindhoven have prepared two performances for this party. One is a street dance by the Chinese student dance group (www.cndance.nl), the other is a performance with violin and piano playing the traditional Chinese song LiangZhu./.
