Little enthusiasm for defense ceremonies in Van Abbe
29 januari 2009 - The TU/e has dropped the Van Abbe Museum as a permanent location for defense ceremonies. Since June 2007 eight people staged their ceremonies there (from all Departments except Industrial Design), but the Departments were not very enthusiastic about it, according to university secretary ir. Harry Roumen. The podium was found too small, the arrangement too narrow, and for guests the museum is not easily accessible due to limited parking options.”

Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival
29 januari 2009 - Last Monday, 26 January, was the start of the Chinese New Year. This year is called the year of the Ox, which stands, according to Chinese Astrology, for prosperity through fortitude and hard work. On New Year’s Eve people will wear red cloth for good luck or they will wear traditional Chinese clothes. Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival is considered the most important Holiday on which people visit their family and friends.
