TU/e is preparing itself for the European Week, for which four hundred European students will be staying in Eindhoven student digs for a week. The week, whose theme will be ‘Faces of Europe’, is packed with fascinating lectures and bubbling parties. On Monday 25 May the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, will open the week with a lecture on Europe. “The official start will be accompanied by an impressive light show and dazzling fireworks”, say Diede Gulpers and Wouter Jansen, students of Industrial Design and co-organizers of the week. On 29 May the event will be closed with a spectacular record attempt: the world’s biggest water balloon fight with 65,000 balloons. All lectures will be in the English language and accessible to participants, students and staff members of TU/e. “When it’s full it’s full. However, volunteers have priority as well as free admission. And we still need plenty of those”, the organizers emphasize. For more information: www.europeanweek.org. |
