“My final destination is way out of sight”
14 mei 2009 - ’Easy living’ she finds it in the Netherlands, which Marie-Claire Hermant got to know for the first time in 2005. And Dutchmen cold? “I haven’t noticed that at all”, says the 27-year-old South African PhD candidate at TU/e. “A reputation is made by others. You always need to arrive at your own judgment.”

TU/e tuctuc ready for India
14 mei 2009 - In jest they sometimes call their Indian rickshaw ‘stuk-stuk’ (stuk means broken down). “By the time one defect has been repaired, another one presents itself”, Bas Laugeman and Sebastiaan van der Tas say with a smile. Still, they are not displeased with the result. In the past few months the two students together with team members have been working on an environmentally friendly tuctuc. The TU/e team is participating in a competition with Dutch and Indian teams of students.

TU/e evacuating 1,000 people in disaster exercise
14 mei 2009 - TU/e needs some one thousand volunteers -students and staff members- for a large-scale disaster exercise in October. The group will be evacuated during the exercise; the idea is for some four hundred of them to spend a night at reception locations off campus.
