Inschrijven
De komende maanden is er voor studenten
en medewerkers van de TU/e de mogelijkheid
de volgende cursussen te volgen:
Excel 2007 basis/advanced, Cascading
Style Sheets, Applied data Analysis with
SPSS, Matlab, Programmeren met C++
(alle in oktober) en JavaScript, Access
2007 basis/advanced, Java, PHP and
MySQL, ANOVA and Regression with
SPSS en UML (alle in november).

Ir. D. de Kleine verdedigt op woensdag
7 oktober zijn proefschrift en stellingen
tegen de bedenkingen van een commissie.
Dit gebeurt vanaf 16.00 uur in zaal 4
van het Auditorium. De titel van het
proefschrift luidt ‘Numerical simulation
of unsteady flow in hydraulic turbomachines’.
De Kleine promoveert
aan de faculteit Werktuigbouwkunde.
De promotor is prof.dr.ir. J.J.H. Brouwers.

M. Campanella MSc verdedigt op woensdag
7 oktober zijn proefschrift en stellingen
tegen de bedenkingen van een commissie.
Dit gebeurt vanaf 16.00 uur in zaal 5
van het Auditorium. De titel van het
proefschrift luidt ‘Balancing Automation
and User Control in a Home Video
Editing System’. Campanella promoveert
aan de faculteit Industrial Engineering &
Innovation Sciences. De promotor is
prof.Dr. A.G. Kohlrausch.

Ir. H.J. Visser verdedigt op donderdag
8 oktober zijn proefschrift en stellingen
tegen de bedenkingen van een commissie.
Dit gebeurt vanaf 16.00 uur in zaal 5
van het Auditorium. De titel van het
proefschrift luidt ‘Approximate Antenna
Analysis for CAD’. Visser promoveert
aan de faculteit Elektrotechniek. De
promotoren zijn prof.dr. A.G. Tijhuis en
prof.dr.ir. G.A.E. Vandenbosch.

Prof.Dipl.-Ing. C. Rapp houdt op vrijdag
9 oktober zijn intreerede. Dit gebeurt
vanaf 16.00 uur in de Blauwe Zaal van
het Auditorium. De titel van de rede luidt
‘... denn der Wahnsinn braucht Methode’.
Rapp is werkzaam aan de faculteit
Bouwkunde.

Ir. F. Kraaijeveld verdedigt op dinsdag
6 oktober haar proefschrift en stellingen
tegen de bedenkingen van een commissie.
Dit gebeurt vanaf 16.00 uur in zaal 4
van het Auditorium. De titel van het
proefschrift luidt ‘Propagating discontinuities
in ionized porous media’.
Kraaijeveld promoveert aan de faculteit
Biomedische Technologie. De promotoren
zijn prof.

Ir. R.J.H. Hoes verdedigt op maandag
5 oktober zijn proefschrift en stellingen
tegen de bedenkingen van een commissie.
Dit gebeurt vanaf 16.00 uur in zaal 4 van
het Auditorium. De titel van het proefschrift
luidt ‘Configuring Heterogeneous
Wireless Sensor Networks under Qualityof-
Service Constraints’. Hoes promoveert
aan de faculteit Elektrotechniek. De
promotoren zijn prof.dr.ir. T. Basten en
prof.dr. H. Corporaal.

SAI
Diploma award ceremony
3TU.School for Technological Design,
Stan Ackermans Institute (SAI), invites
you to the diploma award ceremony on
Thursday 8 October. During this ceremony
the SAI User System Interaction design
engineers will receive their diploma, a
Professional Doctorate in Engineering
(PDEng) degree.
The festive presentation of diplomas will
take place in the Blauwe Zaal in the
Auditorium at Eindhoven University
of Technology from 15.00-16.00 hrs.
The presentation will conclude with
a reception in the Senaatszaal in the
Auditorium.

Workshop cv en sollicitatie
Op dinsdag 13 oktober houdt KIVI NIRIA
Students Eindhoven in samenwerking
met Technisch Projectbureau USG
Innotiv een cv-workshop met sollicitatieprocedure.
Tijdens deze workshop worden
alle ins en outs van een goed cv en een
goede sollicitatieprocedure besproken.
Als je graag van deze mogelijkheid
gebruik wilt maken, vragen wij je vóór
donderdag 8 oktober een volledig en
up-to-date curriculum vitae te sturen

Deelname is gratis.

Course ‘Supervising master students’
for W, BMT, TN and ST
The course ‘Supervising master students’
for teachers and PhD students (experienced
and inexperienced supervisors) for
departments W, BMT, TN and ST, will
be offered on Monday November 9th
and Thursday November 12th from
13.30 -17.00 hours. The course is aimed
to improve and systemize the way in
which supervisors guide their students
during their graduation projects. The
course consists of short introductions,
exercises and discussions. Participants will
have an active role during the course.
Participation by teaching staff of the TU/e
is free of charge. Further information

Workshop ‘Voice training’.
Do you have a sore throat or a hoarse voice
after giving a lecture or presentation?
Would you like to improve your audibility
in the lecture hall? In that case you might
want to participate in the workshop
‘Voice training’. The workshop aims at
improving the use of your voice in lectures,
presentations and instructions, and at
the prevention of a strained voice.
During the workshop a teacher of speech
therapy will give you information and a
lot of exercises to work on. Your performance
is recorded on camera. You will
be given advice based on that recording.
The workshop consists of two sessions
that will take place on Monday November
9th from 13.30-16.00 hours and on
Monday November 30th from 13.30-16.30
hours. In between you’re supposed to
work on exercises. This course is also a
part of the TU/e BKO training program.
Participation by teaching staff of the TU/e
is free of charge. Further information
