“This year, companies were slower to respond to our request to participate. Most of them have registered again, though”, says Jeroen Eggermont, chairman of the Wervingsdagen. The event is comprised of three sections. For only one of these, the Interview Days, do we see a declining interest from the business community, due to the slump. During these days in April students have one-on-one interviews with recruiters from companies. Eggermont: “Last year 65 enterprises took part in this. Now there are 56. The number of interviews per enterprise has also decreased.”
The organizer thinks that the enthusiasm for the Training Days (from 30 November) and the Enterprises Day (23 February 2010) has risen slightly. This is why three halls are kept occupied permanently for the Training Days, when students can improve their skills by means of workshops. In 2008 two halls were used. At present, the Enterprises Day is already fully booked. “We have room for well over one hundred stands in the Auditorium and Hoofdgebouw. Just like last year, these have all been given away now.”
Apart from this, the chairman is quite pleased with the number of student registrations for the Training Days. “Those workshops are filling up nicely.” Students can register for the workshops until 23 November. (TA)/. |
