TU/e chemical engineers first to publish in new RSC journal

1 april 2010 - In the middle of March the research group led by prof.dr. Bert Meijer from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry kicked off for the new scientific journal Chemical Science. An article about enzyme-based supramolecular polymers heralded the first issue of the renowned British Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).RSC is a well-known publisher in the area of chemical science. In imitation of the absolute number one, the German journal Angewandte Chemie, and the renowned journal Nature, RSC is now also trying to profit from the increasing interest in scientific publications about chemistry. The article written by Meijer’s group is freely available to readers on the website of Chemical Science. The Eindhoven researchers shed some light on the manner in which small, biologically inspired molecules may be instigated to link up with each other so as to become bigger molecules. The TU/e chemical engineers hope that they will be able in the near future to compose entire proteins in the lab. See: www.rsc.org/Publishing/Journals/SC/News/first_article.asp.
