Erasmus Mundus program weapon in the battle for the math student
20 september 2007 - For several years now the TU/e has deployed a new means to attract math students. With its Master’s program Industrial Mathematics the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science (W&I) participates in the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Committee. Master students of this program can attend the two-year study at two of the three participating universities. In addition, students from countries of third parties qualify for grants.

Cricket workshop to rid sport of ‘boring’ image
20 september 2007 - A normal cricket match takes five days, a short one ‘only’ eight hours. Nonetheless cricket lovers have ventured to present the game to students in a two-hour introductory workshop. Organizer Huzaifa Das, a student of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, admits that it is impossible to learn this sport, known for its multitude of rules and extensive matches, within such a brief period: “But we don’t want to bore them out the first time.”
