International student competition Industrial Engineering and Management Science
6 december 2007 - Before long, TU/e students of Industrial Engineering and Management Science can compete for the title ‘Best IEM students of the year 2008’. On Thursday 13 December Interactie, the international sub-association of student faculty association Industria, will hold the TIMES (Tournament In Management and Engineering Skills) Local Qualification. The winners will go on to the semi-final in Novi Sad (Serbia) from 22 thru 25 February. The final is scheduled for early in April in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Interactie is organizing the contest for the fifteenth time this year. Rémon te Voert, secretary of the sub-association: “The setup of the contest is identical every year. Participants are given a case in which a problem from the business community is presented. In an enjoyable and instructive way students can put into practice the knowledge that they have gathered during their studies.”
The contest is open to Dutch and international TU/e students of Industrial Engineering and Management Science. Both the case and the presentation will be in English. After the case has been laid before them, each group will have three and a half hours to work on a solution, which they then have to present to the jury. At the end of the day it will be announced which participants can go to Serbia./.

Groups must consist of four participants. The registration period will close on 11 December or once the maximum number of ten teams has been reached. Registration is possible by sending an e-mail to interactie@tm.tue.nl stating the names of the participants.
