What do we think of the Dutch?

According to Cor van Halen, a Cultural Psychologist at the University of Nijmegen, the Dutch think of themselves as cosmopolitan and open, which enables them to communicate easily with other cultures. On the other hand Cor van Halen thinks many migrants, and perhaps also International students and researchers at the TU/e think that communication with the Dutch can be complicated: Dutch social rules can be very ambiguous, which makes it hard to understand and to practice them, and can create an awkward atmosphere. During an interactive workshop Cor van Halen will ask questions and would like to discuss this subject with the audience. Friday 29 February from 12.30 to 14.00 hours in Auditorium 13; admission free.
