Look Who’s Talking
This week: the editors of this page, Sjoukje Kastelein and Hilde Bosman.
15 april 2010 - “Dear reader, as you can see the features on this page have been renewed. Food for Thought, Just the TU of Us and Picture This have made way for Look Who’s Talking, I Wonder Why / I Wonder How and What’s Happening.

Since January we, Sjoukje Kastelein (on the left) and Hilde Bosman, are the new editors of the English page. With great enthusiasm we have started working on the old features, which were predominantly of a human interest nature. We soon got the impression, though, that we were writing in particular about rather than for international students and staff members. Readers often told us that they would like the page to be more informative.

In the fortnightly feature Look Who’s Talking we speak to someone who has an interesting link with the international community at TU/e or in Eindhoven. One issue may focus more on the informative side, while there might be more human interest in the next issue. In I Wonder Why and I Wonder How (which will alternate per week) we let readers ask questions about sociocultural issues or about practical problems. The answer to sociocultural questions will be given in most cases by a student or staff member, while the solution to practical questions is something we shall go into ourselves. What remains is the overview of activities What’s Happening. This will shed more light on activities taking place at TU/e and in the city.

Until the summer holidays we shall test run the new features, after which we shall evaluate which ones we and you like best. So you may be seeing some of the old features back after the summer. We should like you to voice your opinion! You can reach us at engcursor@tue.nl. If you have any tips for news or wish to take part in any of the features, please do not hesitate to contact us.”/.
