Chinese honorary doctorate for professor IE&IS
15 april 2010 - Yesterday, April 14, prof.dr. Geert Duysters, part-time professor of Entrepreneurship & Marketing at the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (IE&IS), received an honorary doctorate from Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). WUT is one of the oldest higher education institutes of China and is located in the central province of Hubei.

The origin of life embodied in the Bolero
15 april 2010 - While the inflaming Bolero by Ravel makes many music lover’s heart beat faster, Orkest Zuid also intends to use the work to symbolize the origin of life. This orchestra combines music and science in a project that has been set up together with the TU/e Institute for Molecular Systems (ICMS) and Science Center Nemo.

I wonder why ...
15 april 2010 - Our very first question comes from Hejie Yang (China), a PhD candidate at the ECO group of Electrical Engineering. He asked Cursor: ‘I wonder what Dutch students do after work or after classes at university’. His explanation: “Actually it’s not my own question. A friend from Denmark was here for the weekend and he asked me this. I didn’t know, I never see them. I usually go out with my friends from the ECO group.”
