Some time ago Cursor on a fortnightly basis devoted attention to foreign dishes. The editors would visit international students and join them for dinner. This time the tables and turned and foreign students get to sample the Dutch cuisine at Bart Frenk, a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science.

During the international weekend on November 5, 6 and 7 it was rush hour at the international party (for photos of this party see the student pages) as well as at the International Fair in the Ontdekfabriek. Astrid van Deelen, project manager at Brainport Development, is more than satisfied. “It is amazing that so many visitors have turned up. Last year we organized a whole week and managed to attract very few people altogether. Fortunately this time it was completely different.”

During the modeling week maths students will work on a mathematical problem in groups of four for a whole week. They do more than that: during this week they also eat, sleep, live and cook together in bungalow park ’t Wolfsven in Mierlo.
