The Supervisory Board of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) has appointed dr. ir. Arno Peels (53) Chairman of the Executive Board. As of May 1 he will succeed ing. Amandus Lundqvist, who is retiring. Peels was born in Eindhoven, studied at Delft University of Technology and obtained his doctorate and worked at the University of Twente. It is as if his appointment in Eindhoven embodies the 3TU idea.

The animation studio of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) of TU/e has placed a call on the site of the STRP Festival, the Eindhoven art and technology festival that is to take place again in November of next year. Together with STRP the researchers of the ICMS are looking for new creative artists, designers or scientists who have ideas about a new visual language for visualizing molecules.

An eerie audiovisual piano concert, dancers in a dialogue with their own digital representation and being chatted up via a ‘sjansmachine’: it is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can expect at the PlazaPlus festival, which will take place at the Eindhoven Plaza Futura theater on January 14, 15 and 16. The curators have put together a highly varied, international program including experimental video and animation art, music, dance and combinations of these in various live performances.

Early in 2008 Marco sprang an unpleasant surprise on his girl-friend Gabriela. From his native country of Mexico he moved to Eindhoven for a five-year Master study. Today Gabriela finds this fantastic, for she too can now be spotted on campus.
