According to the publication Mobiliteit in beeld 2010 ‘Internationale mobiliteit in het Nederlandse hoger onderwijs’ (international mobility in Dutch higher education) by Nuffic, the Netherlands proves to be an attractive country for women to study. They constitute almost sixty percent of the foreign students in funded higher education. Altogether there are about 47,000 foreign students, two-thirds of whom are from EU countries. The total number of foreign students in the Netherlands is 76,750.
